Akimbo is a boldly-designed tower coming soon to the heart of Burnaby’s Brentwood neighbourhood.

Naming and Graphic Identity

The name Akimbo embodies self-expression; it is an extension of the tower’s architectural design. The graphic identity we created utilizes a bold, dynamic wordmark that expresses the confidence and stature of the development. By using black and white motifs we reflect the dark and light tonal palettes of its interior design, and are able to highlight its defining features.

We art directed a high-fashion photoshoot for Akimbo. Shot by photographer Evaan Kheraj, the black and white portraits display each individual’s character while reflecting the modern and minimal style of the campaign.

We designed a large format publication, and print collateral that communicates and supports Akimbo’s mission of self-expression.

We designed graphics for use on the Akimbo presentation centre, hoarding and advertisements.

We created a bold, responsive website featuring a horizontal scrolling home page, as well as an interactive neighbourhood map and floorplans.

Akimbo stands for self-expression.

Teaser Site

We developed a one-page teaser website to drive curiosity and capture interest in the early stages of the project.
